Has anyone done this kind of modification on the arches , i quite like the look of them . Is it easily done , just presuming there is no welding involved just shaping of the original metal or has there been some aftermarket flair moulded onto the arch :-\

I wouldn't think PC Plod would look kindly at these wheels, they do stick out a long way!
They are not too far from the body so too many people or too much weight and the tyres would be scrap

Why not just put the right size wheels and tyres on? :-\

How does anyone get insurance for this sort of breakwittery?
Presumably by not declaring it, and therefore not really having insurance when it comes to 'the crunch'. ::)

:'( Personal opinion.....its looks ridiculous and why spoil a decently designed car? Anyway the rules say that NO tyre or roadwheel can be outside of the vertical confines of the wheel arch, back or front. A heavy load or rough surface will soon put a nice groove in the tyre and might even blow it out :'( Plods love their 30 quid earners so if you go ahead either stay within the rules or be prepared to part with coin for thir coffers. Not sure if points are given though.... ;)

Words fail me. :(

Im just intrigued how its done ...i can see how the rolling of arches is done but not how they flair the original wheel arch as surely that would heighten the arch if it was pushed out to form the flair , maybe thats the purpose of flairing so you get more height in the arch as well as forming a wider arch for wider tyres .
-
But the Omega doesn't need wider tyres than what will fit... ...so why compromise the safety, the comfort and the handling just to make it look like a chavved up Fiesta :-\

I think you'll find the one in the picture has been done by slicing the arch lip off with a pair of tin snips and then rolling it out to make the 'flare'.. very ghetto!

I just read that the arch rolling tool is used to force the arch out together with a hammer for shaping , more difficult than just rolling the arches though .
Wont be going this far though ;D
