Title: Anyone going to Greece or the Greek Islands on holiday?
Post by: Varche on 18 May 2012, 10:17:28
Anyone on the forum going to part of Greece this year on holiday?

Worried about what impact leaving the Euro would have on your holiday or not bothered?

Personally I think it is a great place to holiday and I think the ATOL etc holiday protection system will ensure you get home alright. I do believe however that there will be widespread disruption and even pandemonium in the first few days.

when they do take the plunge and return to a devalued drachma the place will be a fantastic bargain holiday place

Supposedly restaurant owners will have a lot of special offer for guests but advisors say that in case of deciding not against spending holiday in Greece you should have double some money to the usual amount.

Why worry about it (from a holiday PoV), just go and enjoy yourself, and ensure you are protected, and have a Plan B whilst that protection kicks in.
