Can anyone go to the breakers and weigh in metal for cash or do you have to have a business  , ive a few things to fill the car and dont want to give it to the pikeys  :)

You don't need ID until 23rd June (legally) I weighed in 4 Omega doors yesterday, no business just gave my address. Weighed in, dumped doors, drove out, re-weighed, collect ticket and money!

More and more area's are demanding id nowdays due to the theft of metal  ;)

Sign up at my local (actually Northamptonshire) says the will require it, but not for another month yet. Still easy, no business required. Just take driving license ID card  :y

Was £100 a ton for me, 4x Omega doors & they gave me £14, better than nothing.

Thanks chaps , i will stock up on metal till i get a few tons  :) hopefully the monaro is worth more than the elite in scrap  ;D

You were done, going rate is around 200 per ton (scrapped a load last week)

They were quoting £200 a ton for some stuff, but only quoted me 100 quid  :-\

Never heard of them martin , i got a few bits but not enough to weigh in yet but was just wondering in general if you had to be a trader or not ....pikeys have been round the streets quite a lot just lately with fully loaded vans every day . They must be making £200 a day easy  :o
