To scare the pants off someone who's used to driving one with the stereo controls? ;)

Im interested in this but unfortunatly i havent done it :D

Because the controls are to hand and not in a silly stalk. Easier to use and adjust IMO too. I'll have to look into it.

How often do you use the cruise compared with adjusting the stereo? :-\

I can't see it working, TBH.
Radio buttons are commoned with the horn switch and coded with a different resistance for each button. Cruise switches each have a dedicated input to the engine ECU, some are push to make, some push to break. With the connectors you have through the airbag / horn squib it's not going to be possible.
I also have trouble understanding why you'd want to, TBH. :-\

The amount of times I use cruise, I find find it perfectly positioned. Hands usually at quarter to 3 for me. I find myself resting fingers/hand on the top part of the airbag section.
Little flip of the finger, cruise is on. I find steering wheel controls are actually harder to get to!
Really struggle to see any benifit/point of them on the steering wheel, if it could be done, lot of work for not a lot of gain? :-\

The cruise controls on my Jag are on the steering wheel (along with radio controls), and to be honest I find it easier and more convenient to use than the Elite one.
Guess its personal preference, although having had experience of both systems I stand by my preference.
Whether its sensible, or even possible, to do this on the Omega is debateable.

GMasterT, I've also thought about moving the cc to the lhs steering wheel controls. I use cc all the time - even just going to the shops. Also thought it would be nice to get the "Sport" button off the gear lever onto the rhs of the steering wheel. And it would be fun to get the kickdown and TC there too! This would bring all the driving / speed controls to easy fingertip reach.
But I read what Kevin Wood says above - so that's the end of that daydream.

Well, I only ask as I use my cruise all the time too and am currently in an 03 mondeo which has them on the wheel. Its just much better once youve had them on the wheel. I am going to sell the mondeo and go back to a v6 omega which I am making, but I need to make sure I am A: Economical* and B: staying at the legal mph's
(*I know its more eco to drive without cc if youre careful, but I cant be arsed! And my 11 points mean I must be good lol)

I have lost count of the number of times that I have really *really* wanted to sound the horn but haven't been able to because the buttons weren't where I left them ::) (usually stationary in a car park, steering turned from straight ahead & some one reversing towards me without looking). Thumping the air bag doesn't work either....................
Radio controls are OK on a straight road but I like to mute my stereo before parking, when the wheel is upside down the track change buttons end up where the mute and -ve buttons should be :(
[edit] I suppose cruise should be safe enough because you are unlikely to set it while you have half a turn on the steering..........

And that is why it is MUCH better on th end of one of the stalks! The only other viable place for the horn is the centre of the wheel. Nowhere else will do.
