will a swan neck detachable towbar, pre facelift. fit onto a facelift..and does any bumper/under panel need cutting
-
Yes, probably. ;)
You might find the hitch is a little short as the bumper protrudes a little further on the facelift, but it shouldn't be enough to hamper hitching-up.
A bit of the underside of the bumper will probably need to be cut to clear the lock mechanism and electrics, but none of it is visible unless you're lying under the car.

just a thought on this, depends what hes towing, if it got the alco anti snake hitch on they longer so would hit the bumper
-
this is all i want to toe for them little tip runs :y

Put an ALKO on that and it'll be drifting round the corners, so I think you'll be OK. :y
-
now that would be funny to watch
-
Thinking about it, I had a Westfalia one from a PFL on my facelift and it was fine.
-
and are the toe bars easy to fit..no tank move :y drill and bolt

pretty much yes, & the electrics that may or may not have the plug on them. ;)
-
is there a wiring diagram on here for it..and do i need a relay...does effect the bulb check thing on dash :y
-
Slightly off topic but who does a detachable one that isn't a million pounds? :)
-

I think that bar must've been all things to all men Omegas, because the ball is miles away from my PRL bumper compared with the Bosal (OE type) swan neck I originally fitted to my car ........... :y :y

Loads of info on the net & the forum if you search for it. ;)
you don't need an extra relay for the bulb check etc, but there is one that you can use if you want to extend the brake light check to your trailer/caravan. :y :y
-
no forget relay then just need it for quick tip runs...found nothing on here about electrics

I reversed my car up ramps. :y In theory the bumper needs removing, it makes life much easier for access, but it's possible to fit with it still on the car. :y

Estate? They should all be there, but don't use scotch locks ........ :o I made up a plug using various foglight bridging plugs, but failing that you'd be better cutting the GM socket off & making a soldered connection directly to your new wires. :y

It's a saloon ...... Doh! Remove the black trim from the rear off the boot, you'll find the socket there (A round one on facelift cars) :y :y

Just be aware that, by law, all towbars fitted since to vehicles manufactured since 1998 MUST be type approved
http://www.towequipe.co.uk/advice-towbar-law.html
The type approval probably changed between PFL and FL but I don't know ... worth checking first ?? as a non-type approved towbar would be an excuse for Insurance to be nullified .. :(
