seems all TFL's fleet of vehicles are exempt from the new laws that come into effect. and any vehicle under 1.205 tonnes

Why doesn't that surprise me? One rule for them, one rule for the rest of us.

Seems more like a mechanism to keep the lorry manufacturers in business to me. Once a vehicle's on the road why penalise it into being scrapped before it has done its' job?

They'll get their reduction in emissions naturally as new vehicles take over from old ones.

Ah, but it's not about reducing emissions, of course, it's about increasing taxation.

I have a horrible feeling that you are right.
I know several towns and cities are watching both the congestion charging and emmision zones very closely.

Yep..........we will all be off the road soon..............its the goverments grand plan........get the working man back in the gutter.
