I'm presuming if I was doing the job on my car/for a customer that green thing is the clip and would need replacing?

Ps, refitting took 2 seconds... just clipped straight back in  :y

I rarely replace the clips, but *ALWAYS* have a couple spare, just in case they fail when removing...

Cheers mate  :y

Love the fact Haynes describes these as ''quick release'' clips  ::)

''really bloody hard work even with the correct tool'' clips would be more appropriate

You'll soon get the knack - it becomes easier with practice :y

Additionally, its seems Ralph has had a hard life, from a servicing point of view, so it may have been on a while.

sure thang mate.

firstly yours will be more well hidden being an estate i believe. having a saloon i simply took the rear drivers wheel off and crawled under. normal pliers and forceps did not work for me... i have a link robG kindly provided for the special tool to do it. still needed a bit of grunt

I know what you mean mate.....I was going to do it myself but like i said time ran out on me and i wanted it doing before we went away....I also had to have all the back brakes replaced which ticked me off even more casue i know i can get the parts cheaper and do them my bloody self but that said i dropped it off and picked it up job done and pocket lol. ;D ;D ;D

Will order a set of them now thanks again W.bear

gstylebaby - get some replace clips as well for fuel filter. If yours is really stuck, there is an even greater chance of the clips breaking.  Can't think they are more than a quid each, you need 2.

Last time I did mine got new clips with filter.

Swine to get off - needed 2 small screwdrivers and 3 hands :o

Easy to get back on though :y
