Hey guys,
Im new to this so go easy on me.
Just bought 03 2.6 V6 yesterday. Was going fine when I collected it, had to drive from lincoln back to northern ireland (345) and its starting to sound a bit dodgy. Fine when cold but when warmed up it starts to idle badly and causes the car to vibrate especially at low revs and it sounds like its misfiring. Is it possible the exhaust could be blocked somewhere or is it new coil packs I need?? Car only has 48000 miles and belonged to an old guy who hardly ever drive it. Plus exhaust /emmission light is on now as well.
Any and all help much appreciated.

So thats immobilser problem, random misfire and misfire on 2nd cylinder, right?
Just had a look at the top of coilpacks (without taking them out) and 135 looks fine though 246 looks brown/dirty at the 6th cyl?

Would probably benefit from a thorough service as suspect with that low mileage it hasn,t really been used and things get neglected.
Sounds like a good find though and sure you will get it sorted . :y

As above, start with a full service. 0302 is misfire on plug 2 IIRC so the one at the front nearest the battery.
I wasted a lot of time trying to fault find a misfire on my last car that was cured by a new set of spark plugs.
The 246 coil pack can get flooded by rainwater dripping from the bonnet seal.
All Omega V6s are prone to blocked crankcase breathers which cause the camcover gaskets to leak which can then cause random misfire when the oil attacks the rubber boots on the coil packs.

Cheers lads, gonna get it checked out on monday. It only seems to happen when the car gets warm and between 1000 and 2500 rpm???
