Title: Fault code 430. on a 3.2 MV6
Post by: ted_one on 28 May 2012, 21:03:22
EML light came on a couple of days ago,did a quick diagnostic and got a 430 code, this being Catalyst efficiency below threshold, bank2.What I was hoping wether someone can give me some advice as to what's going on, i.e is the Cat on its last legs or is it the Lambda or something else.I tried some Forte fuel treatment and the EML cleared but has since come back on,any advice as usual will be much apreciated :y

What? You only just got that code Nitro? Come on keep up, we've AAAALL got that one. ;D
Or some of us with 3.2's have. :-\

Very common sadly, not much to worry about though. :)

When I bought the 3.2 I was told "when" that code comes up .. not "IF" that code comes up .... and it does .. regular as clockwork... next time will be in the last week of July, then again around the middle of August .. then it will stay away for a year .. :)

Thanks every one for the advice,I'm going to do the drop links in a day or two,so while it's ramped I'll take a look at the level of difficulty in moving the Lambdas,I do'nt weld so It'll have to be subbed out. :y

Light will go out after 30 starts usually or just reset with Maxscan or similar reader

The light will go out when the fault has been fixed.  :y
The fault is remembered for around 20/30 'clean' starts afterwards though ie if you did a paperclip or pedal test it would still be recorded.  :)
