Title: my new car
Post by: Andy B on 29 May 2012, 23:38:36
Well, after three weeks since I left my deposit, I'm still waiting to be able to collect it. After Swansea took their time in sorting out the old tax on the new disc, some numpty at MB sent it back to the previous owner .............. still no V5 so I can't tax it so can't drive it.  >:( >:( >:( >:(

As the Omega is almost worthless, it's as well as the Merc. It'll be used a a comparison between petrol & The Fuel of the Devil  ;) ;)

Modern diesels are cracking engines. :y  Performance, torque and economy, what more could you want. Will it get treated to one of those flash electric towbars?

..... Will it get treated to one of those flash electric towbars?

It has a towbar, but 'just' a ordinary detachable, not sure that the electric versions were available on the R Class - I've seen them on the E Class estates though.

I've driven the E320 cdi with the same motor but 5 speed and it'd take a good petrol powered car to get away from it :y :y

280 and 320 are both 3.0 v6 but different output,190 and 224 bhp :y

After years of bashing how facelifts look, you buy that  ;D - Makes Facelift look like a DB9  :D

Any more pictures?

How come you bought it? Got a bigger caravan to tow?

Hope it serves you well  :y

There are R320s & R280s .... both 3 litre lumps  :-\ metric torques perhaps  :-\ :-\ They set off at £47000 & it looks pretty easy to 'spec them up' by a good few £thousand  ;)

I've just stated the obvious  ;) If you want a car that looks like an Astra G ..... buy an Astra G  ;) ;) ;)

Any more pictures?
I've only got this one cos I was taking the piss & asked the saleman to send me a picture of it ... just to remind me what I've bought  ;D He took me literally  ::)

Just fancied a change. I saw one last year on the road & had never seen one before, so looked it up on't'internet. Same caravan though this should be able to tow the house.  ;D

Hope it serves you well  :y
Thanks!  :y

Glad you went for silver.. or is it grey..or silver/grey..or grey/silver. Anyway, that colour that is the same as 50% of all cars on the road.  ;) The black ones look like hearses.  ;)

It does drive very well, but if you think an Elite is boat like ........... this is like a cruise liner ..... even when the suspension is in 'sports'  :y
Silver/grey seems to be the main choice of colour.  :y

Hearses don't normally have 'privacy glass' in the back, but I know that when my Dad EVENTUALLY gets to see it, will say it would make a good 'private ambulance'  ::) ::) ::)    ie the vehicle that undertakers move bodies from home to mortuary to chapel of rest  ;) ;) ;) Either that, or as my daughter says, a drug dealers car!  ;D ;D ;D

Buy some of those "Smints" which are tiny & could look like drugs, pop them in little plastic bags, drive along outside a night club next to wasted pi$$ heads, flog them for 10 quid each in bag, sorted!  ;D

Saw one of these today and actually they look pretty good in the flesh. If I ever have one too many kiddies, its a car that would be at the top of my list (if I could afford it  ;D ). Not a patch on facelift Omegas, lookswise though  :y

Mine's a 6 seater, the later cars (I think from 2008) have a middle seat on the middle row, & I believe the short wheel base cars were only 5 seaters.  :y
