Title: Bodykits
Post by: gremlin66 on 30 May 2012, 22:33:17
I'm new to Omega ownership but I have been looking round at modifying possibilities. The bumpers on mine are damaged, so I am after an Irmscher or Steinmetz kit with the exhaust and the alloys. Will look into a K&N or Pipercross induction kit too.
Does anyone know where I can get the kits or the exhaust systems?

Those kits are rare and very expensive.
There were some guys in poland making bodykits for migs.
I saw them on uk ebay so try to search it

Ahhh K&N cone filters, best way to screw up the way an engine breathes.

I think tunnie is trying to tell you that induction kits will make no difference to yoor cars performance, in fact it will probably make it worse. The only filter to go for is original or a replacement panel filter. It is all to do with temparature of the air going into the engine. The engine runs better the colder (denser) the air it receives. If you fit a cone filter under the bonnet it sucks air from around the hot engine so the air is warm (thinner) and the engine does not breathe aswell as it could.

You will not find many people on here who are into any modifications. As I have said before, it is your car and do whatever you want to your car, if you are happy with it that is what counts.

And the oil on it will bugger your Mass Air Flow sensor apparently

If you want a body kit, you will have to go route most here went. Buy a car with it already fitted & swap bits over.  :y

Tunnie and mantahatch, I know about all that. I'm a technician but I just like the roar that an induction kit gives. I've found a pipercross panel so I'll probably go for that.
And that website is quite handy. Couple of nice kits on there.
