I just know some of you love Marina's like I do ::) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/V6-Austin-CW10-MORRIS-MARINA-Genuine-1970s-Custom-Van-Hot-Rod-3ltr-V6-/160802482239?_trksid=p4340.m1374&_trkparms=algo%3DPI.WATCH%26its%3DC%252BS%26itu%3DUCC%26otn%3D15%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D8828179736486789575
In all seriousness I do actually like this a lot. Brings back so many memories of converted cars of the past. Did a bit my self in my youth.

Never owned an Marina, but did have an Ital van at BT. It was a crock of. It was about 4yrs old, 60k on the clock, and it was utterly, completely knackered. I used to cover about 200 miles per day, and carried a 2l coke bottle of oil and a 2l bottle of water, which was enough to nurse it through the day.
So even hearing the words Marina/Ital send a shiver down my spine ;D

Thats spot on :y :y !!

Attack of gross stupidity. I am very prone to it.
Fixed original post now, thanks for pointing out :y

Me too. I only hope he binned the woeful front suspension in its' entirety before he dropped that boat anchor under the bonnet. Even with the mighty 80something BHP O series engine mine had in it, the suspension was so utterly unable to cope with the power and weight it was laughable.
Just noticed...
Uprated front suspension with bigger torsion bars, telescopic shocks and uprated discs.
Nope. "Uprated" 'ain't going to cut it for me. ;D

It'd be ok on a drag strip,no corners there to worry about ???,I had 2 marina's as a yoof and understand there handling prowess :D

I gave up and took the front mudflaps off mine. Tried cutting a bit off them, then a bit more, then some more. By the time you find a length where the body roll doesn't cause them to drag on the ground you're up at sill level. ;D

We used them as unmarked cars on occasions and I shudder every time the name is mentioned as it brings back some very bad memories indeed. :(

Had an old mk2 escort van that looked like that with jack up plates , bought it for £50 and sold it for £100 ..its worth about £6000 now :'(

First car I owned was a Marina. 1.3 Super in white. I should've had a chocolate brown one to hide the rust ;D
I wrote it off when a rear tyre blow out & chucked me off the road. Shortly after Dad bought a brand new Ital van for the farm. It was used to transport animals & the like ;D
Served him well for quite a while & I enjoyed driving it, even the time when a Gritter Truck put the screen through >:( :o

That V6 looks tiny in there. They dont make them like they used to ::)
Have NOT added that to my watch list :P

then again you do seem to break quite a few cars.... :P

My dad had a 1300 & 1800 marina... I had a lime green with brown interior Ital ::)

I used to drive a 1979 Reg Vaux chevette ;D
It was my first car when I passed my test when I was 17, great little car for £100 back then :o
My dad also had a Moris Marina in the early 80's ;)

Just before I got married in the early 80,s my G/F .( now wife ) had a M reg Marina in the most alarming Orange . ;D
Spent most of the Summer of 1981 keeping the bloody thing working.Biggest laugh was one day on her way home from work she had to brake hard to avoid a tractor or something on a narrow country lane and when she went to pull off again the back fixings for the drivers seat went straight through the floor and she ended up having to drive home almost looking at the roof, propped up on the front edge of the seat to be able to see out of the windscreen. O happy memories :)
Total heap of crap

My first blowout was in that Ital. And the 2nd. And 3rd. The first (any only, fortunately) time my NSF wheel beat me into a corner was in that Ital. The only time I've had an engine 'fall out' was in a bloody Ital.
rather hate 'em ;D
-
ain't it a shame. If that was a heathcoat van he could command 3 times that money yet they were no better than the Marina vans. I'd love that. I wonder if he'd do a part X on a Lotus Carlton???? :P :P :P

A great many moons ago I had a Marina as a courtesy car while my Mini was in the body shop. I still shudder when I think of it.
Handling? I wished it had some.... Great handfuls of steering wheel just to get the bloody thing to deviate slightly off line.
Perhaps the phrase "Marina as a courtesy car" is a bit of an oxymoron. Height of insult, more like...
