I bought an Omega with the wrong PCD wheels once. Whatever you do, it always feels like its out of balance at some speeds.

IMHO, for the love of god, just buy the right size/config wheels!!

PCD adapters would be an option. They will space the wheels out a bit though.

Don't. Just...  ...don't.

It's these sorts of bodges that break things up for the rest of us tbh. Like the lad round the corner from me who fitted wheel spacers but didn't fit longer wheel bolts. Then wonders why a wheel parted company at the first corner. The eu get wind of this sort of stuff and before you know it we'll all be banned from any form of car D.I.Y.

wobble bolts are perfectly ok provided that the wheel is centered on the hub with spigot rings or suchlike.if you do not then its possible to bolt a wheel on off centre with interesting results. ::)

wobble bolts - not safe.

It's as simple as that - take it from a professional.

Almost. There's a variety of different bolt patterns used by different makes. 5x110 is Vauxhall. A PCD adapter will convert this to different sizes. One set of holes will use countersunk bolts to bolt to your existing hub but will have holes tapped for the different size, like 5x112. the 5x110 comes from 5 studs, and the diameter of a circle if it was drawn through the wheels bolt holes.

Is my understand of wobble bolts correct?

The tapered washer that holds the wheel has a bigger inside diameter than normal so it can be slightly offset for slight different stud spacing on a wheel?

I can understand this being okayish, if the hub has a centre, so the wheel takes vertical forces through the hub centre, and the bolts just bolt it to the hub to take the horizontal forces.

But, if you use them on an axle without a hub wheel centre, the studs also take the vertical forces, so you are asking for trouble as the wheel can potentially move up and down on the axle. Which must make handling interesting, and gradually wear away the bolt under the washer and the wheel against the hub, so over time the wheel nuts come loose or they snap and you watch your wheel overtaking you.  :o :o :o :o :o
