Swapped the door for another Elite item a couple of weeks back. Noticed yesterday the memory button doesn't adjust the mirror. Mirror adjust fine by the door switch in the door arm rest. But press the memory button on the seat, and everything adjusts except the drivers door mirror. :(

Guessing that if you have broken the connection by changing the door then you will need to program the memory again?
-
Was the replacement from an Elite?

Yep.

yeah did try. Although thinking about it the M button is a bit dicky. It sometimes doesn't register.

Yep.
How sure?

Too many dodgy curry doggie bags floating around the footwell then.

Aparat from the Elite badge on the door itself...? Very, I saw the car it came off. Defo Elite.

Wonder if previous owner had smashed it, and replaced with a non Elite one. Easily tested.

Door loom plug to mirror did apear to be fully populated with pins...? :-\

Is this driver's door, or passenger?
Guess you don't know answer to this, but did it stop working when you changed the door, or the mirror?
I doubt the in-cabin loom has failed, doubt the drivers seat has failed, thus door loom or mirror would be my first ports of call.

Drivers door. The one (door) we changed. Iirc there was signs of corrosion on the pins, in the loom socket by hinges.
Mirror is original to the car. Btw.
-
Ah, soz, misunderstood. Been on the cider ::)
So the mirror was your original, as squashed by Range Rover?
So all thats changed is the door loom ;)
-
I was afraid you'd say that. :(
Better double check it's not the memory button first... ...but if all that's changed is the loom, that shouldn't affect the retention of the memory position, shout it? :-\ in other words, there should be some sort of memory stored. Even if the position is incorrect, the mirror should move from being pointed at the rear wheels for reversing, for instance.
-
If the buttons on the seat were faulty, none of the other mirror or seat memory functions would work.
-
Only the M (memory) button plays up. 1,2,3 buttons are fine.
My thinking, albeit small minded thinking, is... If the memory can't see the drivers door mirror position, it can't record and reproduce its position.
But i see your point.

You are correct, its likely it can't see the feedback from the mirror. You've proved its not the button ;)

Loom swap then. Sigh...
Ta.

Thinking aloud, there is an easy way to test it is loom if you remove loom from old door ( even if you cant shut the door in this state) ;) - just ensure the airbag sensor is plugged in when switching ignition on.
Other things, check door loom pins aren't bent (you have a great gadget for that :-X), maybe try to clean those pins up with a needle or something...
