Although its difficult to gauge interest in this meet tbh. :-\

I would have loved to be there but I am still thinking and can't get past what has happened to the forum over the past few months. What happened should have been nipped in the bud. It wasn't and someone was punished and forced into 'resigning' which would have been a great loss to many of us who rely on him and his great skill,  knowledge and willingness to help. It was needless and probably due to the sheer spite of one member in particular who thankfully is no longer present. I faced the same vitriol from the same corner at an earlier point in time so speak from experience.
If I get banned for these comments it will only serve to prove that my thoughts are correct.
Maybe next time the 'court' will be an open one and the members allowed to decide because it is after all..........our club.

hey Bionic...

Not resurrecting your 'other' account to add weight to your arguments again?

Yes, Ive not forgotten your bullying tactics.

Our club?  No.  You will find its the Admin Team's club, and everyone else are guests.

For the record, as far as I am aware, everything has been dealt with and all have moved on, and only 1 person was forced into anything.  She is no longer here.  Raking this up at any opportunity is not helpful at all.

This is getting bit tiresome now and the post above is bit unfair. Everyone has had their say in the OOF thread, admins and members voiced their opinions, and of course Daz. I thought mistakes were realised by parties involved and this whole affair was put to bed?

I do hope that the interest is there as a meet like this is so useful in getting people off the keyboards.

We all interact one with the other in a much more constructive way on a face to face basis when the free flow of conversation leads to an atmosphere where a good laugh can be had.

If I were back in civilisation I'd be up there like a shot - if for nothing more than to see if TB really is as tubby cuddly as some (unnamed) members have alleged. :-X ;D ;D ;D :-*

There is a perfectly good thread running in general chat somewhere if there are issues you feel you need to discuss about whats possibly gone wrong with the site - whether 'that' incident or generally. Please keep it to that thread.  I've said that whilst that thread is active, it will remain, and remain unmoderated (within the laws of the land).  Elsewhere, posts a subject to the normal OOF guidelines. Thanks.

As to meets, this precisely shows why we need them, and why people should turn up.  With body language involved and facial expressions to go by, its easier to get the correct idea about people who maybe come across online as unkind/nasty/arrogant/stupid/whatever.

Generally, all the tensions that seem to build up over the long winter months dissipate when people get together face to face.

Thus, I urge as many as possible turn up to this fantastic meet in a picturesque location :y

Well I'm going, complete with a cracking wee black lab and a fresh wholesale size box of oppsits.

And a box of beer.

And a bottle or two.

And and omega

And a tent and some food.

If anyone else wants to turn up and talk 'dangle berries' and set the world to rights with company then that's fine.

If no other fekker turns up then I'll go for a daunder up the hills with my dog and between the pair of us, we will have something resembling a sensible conversation.

Either be Range Rover, one of the two ex TVP Omega's...most likely a saloon or an Arnage. But there will be plenty of space for your assorted crap in one of them. It's only £1 a mile for carriage  :-*

I'm somewhat subdued nowadays which is in contrast to my more "colouful" years but still drop in from time to time as i have many fond memories over the last few years. My point being that if any of you are in doubt as to whether to attend a meet or not due to on screen bickering, don't worry, check your levels, get packed & go. I've been to a few meets starting with the first Lakes do & we never have any bother. I don't think that's down to keyboard bravery as many of us are capable in a scuffle just not with eachother.

The atmosphere is friendly enough for families & junior Oofers. Food & drink is always in abundance (or if undercooked ambulance?) which is why TB is as cuddly as someone asked!!!!! Guy. 8)

I am posting this openly and not as a PM because I feel that the comments made in the response to my post were unjustified.
Nothing was 'raked' up to be nasty or malicious, it was my personal honest and fair comment on how I feel about attending the meet and my reasons for that feeling. I expected a response in the same vein as mine, a fair one.
The response to the post has only served to prove that my feelings are justified. Strange though how the bit about my wife was raked up too. She quit because of the responses to me being on the receiving end of bullying too by that same person who it appears possibly had a protected position until the actions became far too out of control and caused the uproar that then began. Why were those comments not seen before the posts were posted? Same situation as me possibly because I too was unaware of what my wife had posted in a vain attempt to support me until I read it later and had I seen it prior to its posting I would have stopped it being posted.
Surely some of the main qualities expected in a moderator would be those of diplomacy, impartiality and also fairness for everyone regardless of their standing?

Bionic, your opinions are yours and you have every right to share them in the correct thread... This, as has already been pointed out, isn't it and that's why you are being seen as "raking it up" again ;)

This thread is purely about the Lakes meet which is always a very enjoyable weekend, as are any of the meets, and always boost the morale on here :y

I understand what/why you are saying, irrespective of whether I agree or not.

What I am asking is for is that this is kept on that other thread - "Omega Owners Forum".  Reasons, twofold:

1) It keeps all problems/views/experiences about the current state of OOF in one place. Easy to find, rather than us trying to look over 1.2m posts to find the info to collate.
2) Having the same theme scattered all over the site is poisonous for OOF, and does more harm than you could imagine.  Under normal circumstances, I'd moderate it and take it to PM, but currently over-sensitive to being accused of trying to sweep it under the carpet.

Further similar posts probably will get moderated if not on that other thread - feel free to post your concerns there.

Thank you for you understanding.

I don't think there's any problem with you expressing your concerns Bio, however I would suggest that the best place to do this is on the thread raised specifically to have such comments aired and discussed.

In doing so, the context of your remarks will appear to be much more relevant to those matters which concerned some in the Forum membership to the extent they obviously did;

http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=103134.0

Your decision to comment on a thread about the forthcoming meeting is, in my view, misplaced as what this thread appears to provide is simply a means for those members hoping to attend the meeting to express their anticipation of it.

I have no doubt that many of the attendees (and others thinking about it) will consider the meeting to be a pleasant social gathering where the opportunity will be open for people to reacquaint themselves, one with the other, by communicating in a relaxed face to face way rather than through the internet.

Whilst I feel the manflu I have mysteriously contracted will be at its peak by then (cough, splutter  ::) ::)), I'm loathe to book the ferry until I'm sure I can go. Apart from the Keswick, thanks for the offer Josh  :y, will there be any spanner wielding going on? If so, is it time yet for a "can someone fix my ...... " style thread  ;)

Unfortunately not Paul. :'( Bit of a busy year ahead with too many commitments and the Lakes meet weekend is the same weekend as Tim's passing out/graduation from his RAF training. Looks like a replacement OOF chef is going to be required for this weekend. ;) Hoping I might be able to get to Newent but can't say for sure just yet.

I have a small gas BBQ, the one used at Gaffers meet at Aldershot, I'll bring that if needed :)

I also have a small portable gas BBQ, similar to this:

I can lend it to little fatty, as I'm unlikely to attend.

No, covers so our nomineted chef doesn't get wet/burnt.

We just need a chef. That means Kevin Wood has to come now and bring his homebrew

Oh crap... Does that mean I might need to visit the countess and/or DTM on the way?

Not convinced I could get both in the car TBH :-\ Could Pinky pick the one up from Dundee while he's down this way?
