Title: Daz by the Sea !
Post by: duggs on 11 June 2012, 10:31:34
Many thanks must go to Daz for coming over to the other side....of the country, Felixstowe, to change my belts and wasser pumpen over the weekend.

Twas VERY informative not least that he gave the front of my engine a complete clean, parts and areas I certainly couldn't reach.

Was great to meet such a nice knowledgable chap.   Will certainly be dragging him back here next time.

Major kudos !

Had a 2.8 Granada engine go bang, in fantastic fashion at over 100 mph on the Autobahn one year, while with my parents.

Sound of "glass" shattering, quickly followed by a soaked windscreen ON THE INSIDE and a mass of steam in the cabin.

Slowed as quickly and as safely as I could with my head out of the window and pulled to the side.

The German version of the AA turned up, couldn't speak a word of english and our German was next to useless....

BUT when he shoke his head and said "wasser pumpen kaput"......we understood what he said immediatly.

It was a Sunday, he towed us and we left it at a Ford garage on an industrial estate with a note, written in English.

Turned up at 9.30 Monday morning and it was all fixed...new pump an all.   Wonder if a UK garage would have done the same.
