The Omega is due for a belt change as it's 4 yrs since the last one.
I wondered if it's worth getting a whole kit or just the belt, do the tensioners ever fail?? Also do you need any locking tools? and can it be done without a ramp, like at home on the drive??
Cheers

Belts dont usually fail, its the tensioners which let go, so yes you need the whole kit.Proper locking kit is vital,as is the dvd from the OOF shop if its your first time. :y
-
Also you won't need a ramp mate if your doing it at home :y

I'm glad you've said that. Got no access to a ramp at the moment lol I'm guessing maybe someone in the club, or the shop has the locking tools available?

Some members will loan or hire them to local members. Not sure if anyone is near you who has a set tbh.Might be worth posting a wanted type ad ?

You're welcome to borrow mine FOC :y

Sweet, just had a quick browse on your website. You sound like a handy guy to know :) Not sure when I'll get round to doing the belt, probably next month.
Just out of interest, how long do you take to do the belt seeing as you know these engines inside out??

James can do a belt in 1 hr 15 mins. :P. Less if he is not being pelted with questions

2.5, about 50m. 2.6/3.2 probably about an hour. 3.0, just over an hour.

Took me an entire weekend on my first go. Now though I bet I could do it in a day. obviously with tea breaks ;)
