Well I'll tell you it all started on Sunday 6/04/08.................
Said to the wife "Lets go and look at some caravans for layout and size" With that she said "ok, but we are just looking, Right" I said "Oh yeah" Anyway in the car we got and off we went. First port of call was Berkshire Caravans, three mile cross, Reading. had a look round and saw a Bailey Senator Carolina, nice layout, nice colour inside etc, went to find out if the mig would be ok to tow it, yes it was and on the limit.
Anyway then noticed it was a twin axle so decided against it. Back in the car we all got and then drove to Collins Caravans, A4 Bath road, Beenham.
We got there had a good look round all the vans (used ones) and the wife liked one, so again asked the sales women if the miggy would be able to tow it, she said Yes. Then she said "lets see what I can do with the price" I replied "I would like an awning and it be a full awning" with that she went off for 5 mins came back and said "We will through in a free awning in the price" The price of the van is £8995.
After about 2 hours of being there, we have walked away with a new purchase a Abbey Vogue GTS 420. We only went to have alook BUT we are chuffed to bits.

Own bed, own toilet, privacy, go where you want, cheap to stay, plenty of room to put your things in instead of boot or roof box

As I say, if you want to camp, get a tent (cheaper, faster, less likely to piss off everyone, or get confused with a tarmac layer). Want comfort, get a hotel.

Remember goin in one night after work to have the landlord calmly telling us about a couple of blokes bouncing in the night before waving shotguns around in the bar and robbing him like it was a regular occurence.

Which seasides have those?
Where we go a rental chalet is over £900 a week in school holidays, CLs are lot cheaper, but we use my Uncles garden for free.
Only area we have been to where caravans are awkwards was Bournmouth. We stayed for two nights near Wareham and Poole-Bournmouth-Christchurch is a big area with no countryside.
-
But using a caravan is still cheaper for holidays, especially if you are a member of a club. At least if you want to go for a week its still cheaper than booking up at Butlins or alike.
