Title: Inital start after headgasket change

Hi again just wondered if after a headgasket change would it be ok to unplug dispack on 2.2 and just turn over on
key to get things flowing a bit, maybe a couple of times and will dispack be ok if unplugged it wont earth etc.Any tips on intial start Thanks

I'd crank it by hand with the coil pack removed, that should be enough  :y

If you want to ensure that there is plenty of oil everywhere (only reason I can think of to do this) the best way is to remove the plugs so there is no compression to load the bearings. You will also have to remove the crank sensor, fuel pump or engine management relay to ensure no fuel is injected, as this could flood the engine.

Once you've got the plugs out you might as well squirt a little oil into each cylinder, then spin it on the starter until the oil pressure light goes out, give it 5 seconds or so more for good measure, then reassemble and start. :y

I wouldn't say it's that important, though. You haven't disturbed the bottom end and if you follow good practice and lube the cams as they go back in it will be fine to just fire it up.
