Hi guys,
well its that time again (having it done 28th June) and to be honest I am not feeling confident :-\
I have to be honest and despite all the advice it was beyond my skills and then my wallet to get the Lambarda sensors fixed I have now been informed engine management light on is an automatic failure is this really the case ?
I do thanks to a wonderful local member have the ability to re-set the light which could then stay off for 2 hours or 2 weeks but it makes the car run like a bag of spanners for quite a while and worries me. :'(
help and advice as usual greatly appreciated a couple more MOT questions to follow

i believe the eml showing is classed as a failure :-\,but im sure someone will be along to confirm this :y
-
I think it came in on the 1st of May??? Any fault light, including ANY low fluids is an automatic fail!!!!
-
to be honest there seems to be alot of confusion over this Maybe if we have an MOT tester available ;D
Some say yes others no some say as of June some say August
It seems that VOSA havent been very clear in their instructions ?
Which makes it far worse for us common motorists if it then comes down to interpretation of the rules :-\
I have also contacted my local MOT test centre if I get anything back which quite frankly i doubt I will post the info
-
EML is not a failure.
Other warning lights ie airbag, srs, tpms, abs and tc will be but hasn't been introduced yet.

Received email from Motest today engine management light on is not a fail :y

Paul .. I'm late to this thread .. but if you have any problems with either the EML or the MOT ...for the EML you just need to shout .. for the MOT , I know an honest garage that will do a proper test, but without being overly stupid about it. 'Tis in swindon and has been doing the MOT's on the elite and SWTSMBO clit for some years now... :y :y

Just as a follow up guys she passed I am so happy :) :y
I had a few advisorys :-
Engine light on - ;D like I didnt know that
Both front and rear brakes corroded - same as last year on my list to be done I promise
Play in top steering wheel bush
Windscreen chipped - well nothing to say about that really shes getting old
Brake pedal rubber worn - ;D ok ?
No mention of the handbrake at all.
I have to say despite my fears Motest of Swindon did provide a good and quick service.
I booked it online on a basis of no pass no fee - still not really sue how that works must be a trust thing anyway total cost £35.00
Im a very happy man :)
