Not really sure if this is the right place for this but, my locking key for my alloy wheels on my mig has vanished, having asked vauxhall if i can buy a new one they say no unless i have the key code card. iv never heard of this having took the car to them and logbook. the bolt head is circular with 3 holes in it. the other option is to pay to have them all removed and replaced. is this right what vauxhall are saying, becouse im sure vauxhall supplied one before on another omega i had with out asking for a key code card. on the other hand any one in east london i could meet up with who may have a simular locking wheel key. :y

You may get lucky & find one that fits, failing that you could try hammering a socket onto it, but it all depends on how tight they are done up. Most tyre fitters now have the gear to undo all types of locking studs.

try looking in the side parts in the boot, have a good feel round.

and under the rear seat - there is always some money under there ::)
-
Yeah check all of those cubby holes in the boot.

I lost the key for mine (well, the one that was actually provided with the car when I bought was the wrong one!) so I tried these people:

You send them a photo of the wheel nut and they match with the correct key. It'll cost you £30, but save a lot of hassle getting wheels off.

ebay seems to have different keys for alloys -i managed to get replacement cheaply although it is a bit hit and miss juding the correct one ---- worth a look though.

If it's the 3-slotted bolt that secures the wheel bolt centre-cover:

Put a smallish cold chisel/blunt punch etc into one of the slots, and give it a sharp clout anti-clockwise with a hammer.
Once it moves, wind it out, and replace with an 8mm x 1cm stainless steel Allen bolt. Local engineering suppliers should be able to flog you four of 'em for around a fiver.
Just keep an 8mm Allen key handy thereafter! :y

Byron, I think it's the actual locking stud itself, it has 3 holes, the key has 3 prongs spaced randomly. I have a set with one prong snapped off!

Try your local dealers - you might find one of the techs will help you out for a six-pack. I did when the locking key for my old Skoda mysteriously disappeared the day after I got new tyres fitted...
I grant you, I had to trail round all the local VAG dealers (stop sniggering at the back) - the Seat one, for example, wanted to charge me £180 to remove the four and fit new ones...

You can by the actual socket for the removal of the locking nuts for around £15/£20....but you would need an air gun to get the grunt to do it....J.and.S products in norwich that have van sales around definately do them as do snap on but at a greater price. i think that franklin tools also do them.. :y
