Thanks for the replies, 10/40 I seem to remember was for petrol engines.
If it is 5/30 for diesel what is the trade price for four 5 litre cans ?

Sorry to hijack the thread, but what is the best oil to use in my 1.7TD Cavalier ? I was considering using 10/40 semi(which I use in everything else) but would appreciate some expert knowledge first. Tia. :y

I was servicing a friend's Mercedes and it takes 7L so I had no choice; unless of course I was informed about the offer from my Dealer.....which I wasn't!

4.5l is one (proper, full fat) imperial gallon. It's not a new quantity!

But the necessary amounts are irritating; 5.75l in the V6 'should' mean buying two 5l containers. Or one 5l and a single. The first is expensive if it doesn't need topping up between oil changes(mine didn't use a drop in over 10,000 miles), and the second is just expensive as buying 1l of oil is just ridiculous.

I can't really complain though, as it actually got 5w30 fully synthetic out of the drum at work. We get 410l at a time, so even if I did pay for it, it would be cheap!
