Title: Park Pilot sensor mount
Post by: Olympia5776 on 22 June 2012, 13:44:23
After much trial and error It would seem that the Park Pilot sensors I recently fitted  are mounted 1.5 inches too low on my FL estate bumper causing the sensor (s) to pick up the ground . The mounting was dependent on the previous aftermarket system that I had installed so I had no choice but to fit them where they are.
I have contacted Bosch and asked if they could supply angled mounts for the system but they have been less than interested so far.
What I'll have to do is have four angled spacers turned up out of plastic that will allow me to alter the field of view away from the downward angle at present.
To enable me to get the correct size and shape it would make my life a lot easier if I had a mount to use as a template ,the alternative is to remove one from the car which means removing the bumper again to gain access .
So I ask , does anyone have one of these tiny but important mounts that I could beg , borrow or buy to help me out ?

Estates are VERY rare over here Chris due to the high initial cost when new caused by a loading of 33% upon registration . I've got a front  bumper winging it's way over from UK at present so I can tell you that the shipping fees are not cheap.
The sensors only have to be altered by a few degrees so should not look out of place with shallow "wedges " placed behind the visable sensor mount . Done properly these will not be noticable and they will then be painted to match existing mounts and bumper .
I think it may only be the two outer most sensors that are causing the problem, anyway we'll get there .
Thanks for your help. :y

Well , back to square one .
I persevered with Bosch and after numerous calls to them got through to a Tech advisor who initially said he had the correct fitting kit for the Omega and would send it onto me . What arrived was four contour rings for the latest system that are completely different. >:(
I've yet to hear from him again but I still need one of the contour rings off a late model Omega ,the later on with the smaller sensor.
Apart from fitting a new bumper and elevating the position to overcome the problem ( which might be the only answer ) I have some 3mm thick plastic washers that I'm trying to taper to fit between the contour ring and bumper but I need a contour ring to get the shape correct.
Does anyone have an old Omega contour ring that I can use as a template so I don't have to remove one of the ones on my car ?
This is the part I need and the part number on mine is 1036050251.
I'll gladly pay all costs involved in posting it over .

I should add ( no edit on previous post ) a thank you to Entwood for kindly sending me over some parts .
Unfortunatly due to my error in clipping the photo I posted they were the wrong parts .
Thanks anyway Nige . :y
