Thames Valley have a lot of Vauxhall's on Fleet, The Met have a lot of Vauxhall Astra's & Zafira's too
-
met are getting rid of vauxhalls in favour of hyundai???...may be the 7 year warranty????
-
Coppers have used Protons with a lpg conversion up here for years
-
i guess it comes down to cost in the end.... :y

In Sandhurst part of Thames Valley, local police use Astras
-
The Chiltern Transport Consortium who is the body that looks after Thames Valley Police, Bedfordshire Police, Civil Nuclear and Hertfordshire Police extensively used Vauxhall's for some time. In TVP, that's Astra's, Vivaro's, Coras'a, Vectra's and Insignia's.
However, it sems the Insignia is proving to be rather unreliable. They are the 2.0 petrol turbo, and seem to be off the road most of the time, with turbo's lasting up to 20k miles.
However, Volvo V70's are now being used, they are traffic division or speciliast roles.
Thanks for the upload Jim, very interesting :y

We've just gone from having Astras as pandas to Hyundai's as they're ££££ cheaper + have the 7 yr warranty as already said. To be fair with all the hammer tha Astras took (running 24/7 and not being looked after by whoever drove em ::) ::) ::) ) they stood up to it very well. I'd like to see what the Hyundais are gonna be like in 3-4 years. The seats on them have had to have hard wearing over covers added due to the wear & tear on they got on test, quite a lot of the seats split!!!! They are very plasticy, cheaply put together and have the most annoying of sensors for reversing BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP! in a high pitch screech. Got rid of our traffic T5 Volvos too :'( :'( , now all BMW530's :)

A few years ago, our force where using Skoda diesels. The first time I saw one I PMSL big time. The copper driving it didn't seem too pleased & the look on his face ;D ;D

The Ampera looks ace all marked up! ;D

2 of our BMW's have gone for a service and the other one had a cracked windscreen, so we were a few cars short this set of shifts. Luckily our recovery mechanic used his loaf and dropped off one of the old decommissioned Volvos as a 'loan' car till the others came back. Its a 07 plate T5 with 131k on the clock. Never seen the bobbies move as quick to nab the keys to it!!!! ;D ;D ;D It may be old but still goes like $h1t of a shovel, and pins you back in ya seat when you press the loud pedal. I used it last night and although the new Beemers are awesome, its Volvos every time for me. :'(

Agree the ampera looks pretty awesome. Doub't they will be selling that many to warrant the photoshop / make-up though!

Those Vivaros could be used to house members that do not follow forum guidelines! :D

There's an idea. We could put some ditchfinders on it and treat the errant to a little drive with whatever "OOF nutter" is on duty. :D
-
i'll volunteer for that duty...... i cannot however, guarantee the survival of the "passenger "

What would be the use of it if you could? :D
