Title: And my new tyres for my MV6 are ??????
Post by: Field Marshal Dr. Opti on 27 June 2012, 16:07:53
As we are well aware, all tyres are a compromise unless (even if) you spend megabucks.

With this in mind I believe I've come up with just about the best compromise for the price.

I've just ordered 4 new Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 ........size 235/45/17 from http://lovetyres.com/ (http://lovetyres.com/)

Cost .....£96.58 each. Plus £8 overnight delivery. TOTAL....£394.58. Good value I think. :y

They are highly rated in most aspects.....dry grip/wet grip......noise and longevity. Check  out  the customer reviews below.

Less than £100 a corner is "ditchfinder" territory. The professionals ::) ::) at Kwik Fit wanted £175 a corner to replace the Michelin Primacy she currently wears.

Sounds like a right result there  :y

I was in a real spot the Thursday before Easter when I ended up getting a wrecked tyre due to a "Fischer type Bolt" wedging its self in the outter side wall.Quick dash to local tyre place at 4.30pm to find all they had in stock at 235/45/17 was a Maxxis which did carry a puncture warranty at £90=00.In the end bought 2 as like both axles to have matching tyres.

Not a great move on my part..they are ok in the dry but not all that in the wet...biggest down side is they are noisey especially when slowing down...sounds like an old fashion spinning top being stopped quickly by hand.

Wish I had got something better but needs must and at £180 down I need to get the mileage from them so think they will go on the back and see if that improves things

F**k me, that's cheap........but I'll wager you could smear them with GM 10/40 and they'd still have the same grip. ::) ::) ;)

I like goodyears, particularly the f1's. Liked true gsd3 when they were current but the assymetrics are almost as good, in my opinion.

Good price!
