Hi All, Yet another newbie! Ditched a 20 year old Merc 230e for an X plate 2.5V6 estate. Overjoyed! It cost me the merc & £290 in cash. The Omega has done 188k, loads of history, very tidy but quite a few stone chips (expected) Drives like a dream!!!
Why did I buy an Omega? About 12 yrs ago I worked for a company moving cars about the uk & hitching back with trade plates. One particular job involved collecting an Omega from offices near Heathrow & dropping off at a collection centre in Leicester. The car had been used as a pool car, could not tell the colour as it had not been washed in at least 5 years. The inside stunk to high heaven, vegetation grew out of the floor mats and the speedo had 245K on it! With less than a quarter tank of petrol I set off with the windows open and a cigarette perminantly stuck to my lips. The car drove like a dream, responsive, agile, comfortable. On the M1 I overtook a colleague, also going to Leicester, in a Golf GTI, He simply could not catch me! Off the motorway the Omega stuck to the lanes like glue, the handling was a sgood as anything I've ever driven. I told the boss we needed this car as a pick up car but he ignored me & bought a rubbish Volvo that forever broke down...
Ever since. I have wanted an Omega and now I have one :) There are a few issues: New windscreen required, Windscreen wipers  not returning when switched off to name but two & she needs an awful lot of tlc to get the shine back but no dents, wheels A-OK & interior virtually mint so no drama's. Wil post some photos as work progresses. Cheers...
