Title: auto gear lever rattle

Hi,

has anybody got the same issue on their auto gear lever?
When I "boot" the accelartor the gear lever starts rattling?

any cures?

Found an elastic band round the lever shuts mine up!

mine does the same when driving from cold but goes away after say a mile :y

happens when cold or hot and no other rattles that i have noticed.
Definetly comes from the gear lever

Have found that if i hold the lever it stops

Seriously try an elastic band round the lever.  It usually is the pull up bit that rattles, I found a black elastic band which came round the power cable on a mobile phone charger fitted perfectly and is practically invisible. Works a treat.

Tried the elastic band trick and it didn't help. I wonder if I could take the gaitor off and spray the bottom of the gearstick with WD40
