Post by: Ratty on 03 July 2012, 17:04:15
Just drove for about 2.5 miles, everything okay, stopped at cash point jumped back in started the car and there's no power steering, I lifted the bonnet and belt is okay but there is like a screeching sound coming from the right hand side (as you look at it from the front) no lights on the dash, temp is okay. any ideas?

Thanks

PS pump seized?

Drop aux belt off and try turning pulley by hand :y (PS is top right pulley looking from front)

Check other pulleys - alternator, tensioner water pump and a/c compressor!

all turning via the aux belt okay, the screeching is definitely coming from where the removal guide on here says the pump is. so I suspect the pump itself is knackered :(

UPDATE: Replaced the pump supplied by Elite Pete (Thanks Pete  :y ) took just under 2 hours using the guide on here. Jobs a good un, all working as it should.  :)

Thanks for all the help
