Title: Water Ingress
Post by: waspy on 07 July 2012, 14:38:35
I've noticed the passenger foot well is very wet with water, I've cleared the scuttle drain, but it's still happening.
The car has a sun roof, is this likely to be a cause? If no, what else?

It probably is rain water, what with the weather we are having lately, but may be worth checking it's not coolant leaking from the hater matrix.

I had same problem found it was windscreen seal gone had screen refitted and now no water coming in .It took a long time to diagnose but an air test with compressed air inside the seal and soap solution on outside showed it up.

Iirc Tunnie had a problem with a Bung missing from the floor pan in the rear pas footwell.

...or something like.

Any sign of it running in from the doors?

Yeah, I had a missing carpet lug thing for carpets. Hole in the floor!  (on my 2.2) :o

Driving me nuts till I found it, not sure how it happened. Mine was in rear passenger though, but worth a check for others:

Just an update...... After a heavy shower (not seen one of them for a while ::)) I noticed a drip just behind the glove box so it could be the screen :-\ :-\ Though with water being very hard to trace, I guess the wondering will continue :(

Thanks for your help :y :y

If you can get an air line with a bit opf pressure put soapy water around outside of screen rubber and blow air from the inside of car around the rubber if leaking you will see the bubbles Mine leaked quite badly
