Post by: SMD on 07 July 2012, 20:25:33

Anyone watch qualifying today? Should be a good race tomorrow if it rains, expect long red flag periods though ! ::)

Its forecasted to be a very wet start so 'for sure' it will be a SC start and doing some 20 something laps behind it.

A bunch of big girls. The MotoGp boys were qualifying in monsoon conditions today. :D
Best drivers in the world ? Paid a million bucks per weekend ? Drive the car as fast as conditions will allow without crashing - shouldnt be too much to ask. ;D

I think Buttons excuse was that his windscreen wipers packed up.  :o :o :o

Red flagging the second qualifying session was a bloody disgrace, for what purpose?? ::) ::)

OH, Ferrari weren't going in to qualy 3, >:( >:( the grid should have been as at the point the second session was stopped. Now that would have made an interesting start to the race :y :y

Very interesting race. Alonso showing his race craft and intelegence at the start. Undeniable talent.

...and Pasta with a genuine mistake for once.

Mclarens form is worrying though. :-\ ...with irritatingly positive comments from pit wall on the radio.

...but no Rain. Woopeee. :)

So satisfying to see Ferrari cock up their strategy.  ;D

Fair play to the winner. :y

Was looking forward to a wet race myself. Webber FTC !

Agreed. Webber deserves a good run, at the very least. :y

I was glad to see Webber win, sad to see Button down the back.. I was only half watching it but it didn't seem like anything exciting happened at all, though :(

Apart from Webber getting past Alonso, I thought it was the most boring British GP for a long time. :( The one time you actuallly want it to rain, the bloody sun comes out for the whole race! ::) Would have been much more interesting with a mixture of dry and rainy spells.

Anyone notice the varying hard/softness of the rear suspension on some of the cars?

Mclaren noticeably soft and dipping heavily off the Jack. Force India rock hard and reacting heavily to bumps where the others didn't. Body roll on the Mercs quite noticeable giving an unlevel front wing in the turns.

No? Pfff, you haven't lived. ;D

I noticed the two Lotus cars showing a lot of suspension travel but didn't pay much heed to others

the Red bulls did it prolifically lays year, with that huge rake angle, almost to the point of lifting the inside front and giving the front "axle" an odd articulated look. Some cars seem to have adopted this this year, where as Redbull have moved on to something else it seems.
