Only the 5th British rider ever to wear the Tour de France Yellow Jersey. :y :y :y Hopefully he will make the podium and maybe even win it. :y :y :y

Meant to reply to this, and the highlights programme reminded me.
It does indeed look promising for Wiggins and team Sky. Showing great sportsmanship during the carpet tacks stage.
He's no sprinter though is he. :(
Fingers crossed for him, and that he gives those bloody side burns a trim before he gets to Paris. :-\

I might be barking up the wrong tree, but last year, was there an incident, but one of the 'top dogs' used it to his advantage to break away or gain time.
So I would have understood if Wiggins had done the same, but hats off to the fellow...
Go on, Bradley...win it :y :y :y

Would that be the french or italian rider with the built in electric motor and batteries ? He went up hill outstripping everyone else and for what the video showed he did not put in enough effort for what he gained.

Didn't really follow it last year, only to see the result on the news. Didn't go well iirc.
commented to Mrs CG that I wasn't really sure why I was interested in cycling on tv. As she found it boring. Bit like a Marathon. Other than as a kid racing on me BMX and cycling to work while drafting lorries and buses down Burghfield hill there's no reason to get excited about it... Yet the old toes still start wiggling when they sprint for the line.
Bit like the track racing stuff and Chris Hoy. Must be dull to most people...? :-\

Just sitting down to the highlights. Reminded by the radio news stating that the "British rider" had retained the lead after a turtuous stage.
British...? Now, if he's English that's good on the Media right? But if he's Scots Welsh or Rep or Ireland then that's bad, right?
(whispers quietly to nearest person "he is English I presume? He sounds English) :)
-
If hes from Rep.of Ireland hes isnt even British never mind English. ;)
Mother was English, father Australian,he was born in Belgium, but grew up in Kilburn (all according to wiki of course) so fack knows what he is. :D

Given up with highlights. Too many Barclays ads EVERY 5 mins!

There seems to be a genuine side to Wiggins. More of an X games type mentality. Where they really enjoy the competition, and push the sport as a whole, to improve the sport as a whole.
Call me naive if you like, your probably right, but he comes accross well. Seems to me. :)
I don't see a positive drugs test as likely. Somehow :-\
-
Come on Bradley, doing it for Britain. :y

Which is how it should be. Great sportsmanship earlier in the competition, for sure.

a lot to be said for his team, Team Sky, and especially Chris Froome.
-
Loved the Donkeys in the highlight show. ;D
-
I read today on the BBC website that Froome can go quicker than Wiggins but is not allowed. If I was Froome I'd say 'dangle berries' and go down the pub :y
-
Still having nightmares from one of the promo ads.
Its one of the podium girls which , as you would expect are darlings. being a man you don't immediately focus on the face.
Then it dawns on you that they are wearing one of those paper masks complete with sideboards or whatever there called these days.
-
Loved the Donkeys in the highlight show. ;D
i liked that bit, they even lined up for the cameras..

they did too. Bless 'em. Perfectly orchestrated. ;D

I didn't realise, or maybe I misunderstood, that the last stage is not contested...?
I did wonder why they where talking like Wiggo had already won it. ;D
Must say I've gone all soft and gooey the way the other riders are talking about the Brits victory. :)
-
Right I'm off out for a ride on my Raleigh. Where's that yellow t-shirt. :D

Only the sprint is contested, and hopefully the sky team will drag Cav along to win that one...

hahahahahahahahaha the speed he passes them and also the sudden surge to pass that single rider going up hill hahahahahahahahahaha he hasnt got a motor on that bike hahaha oh dear
-
While cycling is not a sport I follow,I agree with you on that one,the chances of him winning are good I believe, so hopefully he'll do the deed, and if I've heard correctly he'd be the first Brit to win the tour.
-
Well done Bradley Wiggins for being the first British rider to win the Tour de France and for Chris Froome coming second and to the "Manx Missile" Cavendish for winning the last stage for the 4th year in a row. :y :y :y :y :y :y :y :y :y :y :y :y :y :y

'Brucie Bonus' voice:.."Didn't they do well!" :y :y :y
-
Did Wiggins only win it because Froome wasn't allowed to go faster than him :-\
-
No, Froome would not have gained over 3 minutes in the mountains, Wiggins is faster at time trials and did not crack on the mountains.when the pair dropped everybody in their group last Thursday.
-
Legend Wiggo is born. And a white wash by team sky almost. Fantatcic. :)
