Title: what's this connector for?
Post by: plym ian on 08 July 2012, 17:01:17
after taking out power sounder the other night I'd thought I'd check what damage had been done by me snappin the panel above it!
the connector on right is to power sounder but don't know what or where it goes there is about a foot of wire connected to it through bulk head. it wasn't connected to any thing and everything seems to be working fine. cheers ian

i have a spare connector on mine, but it doesnt go anywhere or do anything, so i left it taped up to the wiring loom.

I have two connectors to the powersounder and alarm horn, and the spare one  ;D

Kickdown switch is in that area as well, and will be unplugged on a manual.

One in hand is PS though

how long is the wire? just had a look at mine, got the 2 connectors for the powersounder and alarm horn, 1 connector running to the brake fluid cap and another going to the coolant bottle, and also the redundant one, but mine is a different style plug to the one your trying to find out about.

it's about 12" long I will get a better pic later as well as finding out what colour the wires are :y

12" in length from the scuttle? if so, it might possibly be the coolant tank sensor, mine runs underneath it but cant see the plug, plus the wires are all taped up so dont know what colours they are  :y

Wrong type of plug for coolant sensor (iirc) and the terminals havent been bridged,so I would think the display would be showing "coolant level".
