Title: Thank you. (Lakes)
Post by: feeutfo on 08 July 2012, 17:15:11
To all those who attended and worked so hard to make the weekend so enjoyable.
Special mention to Mrs Cakey I think.  :-*  :y

Excellent weekend, made all the more memorable by there being virtually no work done on cars other than a wheel change and a couple of tech2's. Good company in pleasant surroundings.

Sorry that some of the regulars decided this weekend was not for them for various perfectly valid reasons, but they were missed. As were some of the newer members who also decided it wasn't for them. We were looking forward to putting faces to names!

Always next year though......   :)

Indeed. Another thoroughly enjoyable meet, despite the lowish turnout of around 15. The weather was kind to us, except some showers Friday, and a brief one yesterday evening.

So thanks to each and every one of you.

So much intelectual conversation was going on last night, guess what prat forgot to do the quiz ::). Still, it may keep until Newent ;D

I had intended not to touch a drop, but Highlander, the Wotton Bassett Pikey and gayboy once again led me astray. But only slightly.

And it was a welcome change not to touch cars, and do something different for a day - a few of us went for a nice hike :y

And Newent for those further South (although those further North are equally welcome)

Hope everyone got back safely :)

Mine was a mostly dry journey home, despite weather forecasts, although the M40 was absolutely mullered. Bastard rubberneckers  >:(

Reckon its soon time for Tiffins :D

Fine run up the road until crossing the forth road bridge when I got some rain then dry going along to the tin tent at the coast.

Just sitting down to a chicken dinner now. Braw!!

Fairly uneventful run accross the 66 for us to get to tonight's stop. Even stopped and did a few Caches on the way :y

Don't think any were taken at the site. Nobody thought of it. Probably Hotel21's fault, it normally is :P

It was. Iirc a slight shower on Saturday night, but that was it.

The journey up being the only pain, but only from booersvill to Preston. Preston on was sublime as usual. I love that stretch, and it was dry.  :-X

Oh yes, would have thought, given its relative minimal years that the toll road would have had better drainage than it does. Huge washouts across the road.  :(

Speaking for myself, I certainly never took any pics. Not sure if anyone else did either.  :-[

Really pleased you had reasonable weather, though good company makes up for most things :y

Mine was a mare from the M5 to Preston. Then it was, as you say, great. Due to a handling issue, I had to behave. Sadly. But really picturesque, esp from Lancaster to Penrith.

Having been caught out myself on Tuesday, I gave the toll a miss this weekend.
