Hiya fellas,
As per title really.
Noticed this on Fleabay and was just wondering what i should be looking for if i viewed it.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221045169428?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_1112wt_1185
Don't know much about these but think it has the Rotax engine which i seem to recall is pretty solid. Is it belt or chain drive? If its belt, how long do they last? Any known problem areas to check?
Any advice as always appreciated :y

Don't know much about them, sorry, its not a proper BMW bike, its not shaft drive :P
-
Dunno anything about them either, aside from the usual lock stops examination and fairing wiggling for crash damage.

They are just jealous, challenge them to a race.
First to change coolant thermostat wins!
You will be done inside 20 mins & enjoying a beer watching the V6 owner swear black & blue ;D

I had, many years back, an Aprilia pegaso 650, used the same rotax engine. its a punchy single, not to bad on fuel either

yeah, but include a destination over 50miles away in that race and we'll still win. ;D :P

I prefer big 4's myself (think turbo nutter bastard) so can't comment on the reliability of the motor, but it's only up the road from me and I'd be more than happy to give it the once over for the rest of the stuff (eg, swingarm bushes, headstock bearings, etc) with you if you like?
FWIW, it does get good write up's wherever I look on the net (eg, MCN, etc).

6'3" and about 17.5 stone. Only after it due to the M4 issues and the total chaos the Olympics is going to cause in London with dropping lanes out etc.

Good to hear about the lump being a good unit, cheers fella :y

Check out the price of spare parts. Work colleague has similar (newer) bike with belt drive, belt is something like £200, front brake disc is £200 for genuine and £100 for aftermarket. There is a quality issue with aftermarket items aswell.
That is the couple of bits I know. I believe the the bike your looking at has a chain, so bit of a saving over the belt.
Going against SWMBO is at your own risk. Many on here think they rule the roost, they are the single ones ;D ;D ;D
