I have two remote key fobs which activate/deactivate the alarm when locking and unlocking the vehicle. The third button unlocks the boot.
The lock/unlock buttons are mashed to pieces and work when they feel like it :( Waiting in the pouring rain the other day, for a brief connection to allow me inside, made me decide to renew the batsards. However Bristol Street Motors would like to take £100 from me for the pleasure of replacing ONE key !!!!
So just wanted to know if purchasing replacement key fobs for my CD 2.2 Auto (2002 reg) from ebay is a goer or not ?

If it is OK, what do I need to do with the key fobs when I get them ?
Thanks

As far as I remember, as long as you keep your chip then put it into its socket on your new key, all you will need to do is press and hold the lock button then unlock to synchronize them to the car..
Don't think a tech 2 is needed but someone more knowledgeable about settings will be along soon to confirm. :y

I had my key fob changed on my old CDX and all i did was transfer the Chip and the circuit board and fitted to the key blade and it worked as good as gold :y

The casing is not enough if the switches are knackered,
You could end up needing the witches which need soldering then.
There was a member here reconditioning keyfobs for a very reasonable price, but cant remember the name

Remove the fob from the key blade, make sure the chip stays in it`s slot as in pic. Split the fob and check the microswitches, if knackered contact "Martin Imber" on here for a quality repair service. http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=12

One slight problem Martin, your PM box is full and not accepting new PM's :'(
Maybe you could unload one or two, please ::)

Thanks for the head up AM !

Replacement fob is about £25 (trade) from dealer. Dealers want a fortune to program, but if you are near anyone in link below, programming is reasonable

Sent the first of two keys to Martin today so thanks to everyone who contributed toward this thread :y
However he says he gets loads of keys sent to him with little or no information about them, not even an address. So help the guy out with at least a return address - maybe on an SAE ?
PS He also can be contacted on martin@imber.me.uk

"However he says he gets loads of keys sent to him with little or no information about them, not even an address" NOR PAYMENT IN SOME CASES !!!!!!
The guy is saving me at least £80 so its the least we can do !!!!!!!
