Title: Saab......I feel like a change
Post by: Field Marshal Dr. Opti on 11 July 2012, 22:22:01
Would I be crazy to consider this?

Could I get the parts if I did?. She's located just a few miles from me. Tempting......but pricey.

Are they front or four wheel drive  :-\

Don't fancy 255 bhp spinning just the front tyres

Yep, TG. It's wrong wheel drive. That does put me off a little. :-\

Nice car though, and something slightly different from the usual  BMW/ Audi clones.

I had one, pretty much exactly like that, the noise, the power, and they handle properly good, no matter of anyone saying its front wheel drive, they've got passive rear wheel steering, and anyone who says it's just a Vectra is also talking utter rubbish. They've got a 60% totally different chassis setup to the Vectra, and they'll make any Vectra look pathetic in the corners. That engine as well  :-* :-* :-* :-*. I can honestly say, that it's one car I miss a hell of a lot!

Reckon you should go for it fella...if you like it, want it and can afford it then why not. Same as your Internal Management wanting a new kitchen :y

But have to agree with Gastroenteritismagpie Mr G that the older Saabs, like most cars, have more character. Had a '95 900 SE Turbo, chipped and tweaked with poly all round and 260Bhp was no real issue. Good luck..

Tip - take Del with you and I reckon its yours for 1200 notes  ::)

engine must be the same as vectra v6 2.8 turbo.. so parts must be available.. body parts and plastics from breakers..

I dont think it will be problem for you to find parts.. but repairs wont be easy or cheap..

I have a Saab 95 3.0L TiD vector. estate. It's well equipped, plenty of room, comfy and goes like stink! I like  the 93s as well,  smart looking cars.

Yes, unfortunately that is correct. My Ro falls into that category, but I love to drive her so I don't care. I don't drink much & I don't smoke. They don't put pockets in shrouds  :y ;D
