Title: Engine stalled today
Post by: sandune on 12 July 2012, 13:30:14
Returning from the shops ,turned into my road and the engine died(stalled) :o so had a quick look to see if the aux belt was broken, but no .
All the belts were replaced one month ago by Daz so no problems there.
Tried starting the engine and it started first time.
So is this a warning of problems coming my way or just a hiccup :-\
Any suggestions please :y
Thanks :y

Might be first signs of MAF trouble. I had that and it was most disconcerting on an auto. It was doing it three or four times a journey .

If it starts happening regularly, disconnect the wiring to the MAF sensor( it is located just after the air filter box , before the "bagpipes". The car I think should run properly - don't ask me why!

Cure is a new sensor (VX) or an aftermarket (e.g. EBay about £40) or a secondand one off a similar car.

Any stored codes via the "pedal trick"?

Thanks Varche for the heads up :y
Only two stored codes---- 0420 catalyst system efficiency below threshold-bank 1
0155 and there are 4 interpretation all to do with bank  2 sensor 1
So as to your thought for Maf sensor ,will check it out :y

My3.2 did that and turned out to be a crank shaft sensor .
