Looking for a bit of advice,

 I want to put up a site containing historical photos , any recommendations?

Free ones if possible.

Do you want your own domain name?
Do you want a mail server with it?
Are you looking to create it yourself from scratch, or do you want one that already has a base template with a hand holding wizard?
How much do you want to pay for hosting?
Do you want UK tech support, or are you happy with talking to a goat herder in Mumbai if something goes wrong?

Not too sure to honest, I'm an old man!!!

 you sound like you are from another planet, I want it just simple so people can look at the pictures without too much trouble, free if possible!
