Got a Cavalier GSi 2000 with a 3.0 Omega V6 under the bonnet. Right, now i've got that sacriledge out the way, looking for some advice.
Omega 3.0 V6 with standard F25 FWD gearbox from Calibra 2.5 v6, and management is standard Vauxhall/Bosch 2.5 V6 ECU (PN type so no immobiliser nonsense!).
2.5 management runs the 3.0 absolutely fine, just wondered if there are any performance upgrades for Omega 3.0 V6, such as ECU chip upgrades.
Other than fitting a flatter and lighter XE flywheel and F20 gearbox, theres not much I can think of that will be beneficial to the car.
Any thoughts?

3.0 ecus can be chipped, not sure how the 2.5 ecu would behave with a 3.0 chip :-\ but that would be the first step :y
Lightened flywheel is a waste of money imho :-\ sure it will wind up quicker, but at the expense of the top end, will also drop a lot of speed on long motorway hills :-\
I know of at least on 3.2 that won't top 125ish with a lightened flywheel, should see at least 140 normally :y

Flywheel won't make any difference to performance other than perhaps a little more responsiveness in the lower gears and a little overall weight loss.
Can't see how it would reduce top end performance. It's just rotating mass at the end of the day. Engine output, and therefore performance, are unaffected.

There are chips for Omegas. Just wonder how suitable they would be, as they may be tuned around multirams etc - I guess you have dispensed with these.

Can't see how it would reduce top end performance. It's just rotating mass at the end of the day. Engine output, and therefore performance, are unaffected.
Rob found this to be the case with one of his conversions :-\ lightened front pulley has a noticable effect too.
Engine designed to run at its best with the momentum of the extra weight.

Yes, but it has plenty of momentum when it's in-gear as there's 1700Kg of car connected to the transmission! I don't buy it, I'm afraid.

Was changing the flywheel the only change? or were the intake and exhaust systems modified too? :-X
