Hi. Is it possible to upgrade you steering wheeel and put on it audio control if it doesn't have it originaly (assuming that you have all parts you need to do it)? :)
-
Yes. Will need more than just the wheel though. Wiring, contacter unit, compatible stereo...
-
on most of them the wiring is in place just tucked up by squib so if you have right stereo it could be a case of plug and play, well it was on my ex-plod :y

Pre 98 cars didn't come with remote control. On any model. Thus it wasn't in the loom. And doubt it was on the contacter.
Post 98 cars all came with remote control, so the looms are present.

Well my idea was to buy an irmscher steering wheel without audio control, and to fit audio control from my genuine steering wheel, since its cheaper ::) So I was just wondering if its possible. Thx for replies. 8)

If only you'd posted this a few weeks ago. I've just sold my Omega with a 'wooden' Irmscher radio control steering wheel attached ........ :'(
-
you would need to find a way to fix the radio buttons to the steering wheel as one originally without has no mounting holes in it.

Had server delay for about 2 years :) Well here is a story. I have been sitting in my office for 8 hours, bored as hell. Suddenly, after clicking 100 times home button on my facebook, I got an excelent idea! Let see if I have any new replays on my long time ago posted subjects. And surprisingly I saw one post which i missed, and decided to replay! ::) I have to admit that my reply is little bit odd, but in a funny way ;D :D

Really shame... :'( If anyone has any information about selling used irmscher steering wheel (with or without sound control), please notify me! :y

Reminds me, I must get around to fitting mine, that's been sat in the hall for the past 8 months ;D

I have just refurbished an Irmscher steering wheel for one of my Cavalier Turbos. I had the fake wood bit painted Satin Red to match the paintwork of the car and the leather has been retrimmed. I was going to retro fit remote controls out of one of my MV6s when I get a chance. My facelift MV6 has the later aluminium style Irmscher steering wheel in it already.

Looks good Dan :y :y

Cheers Rob :y If I'd have thought about it I would have had the car's fake wood door card inserts done at the same time. Doh. Another job to add to the (very long) list...! ;D

One of the joys of Omega ownership Dan.
I`m just content with dismantling them ;D

Nicely done! :y Take a picture when fit audio control, and it would be nice if you could take pictures in a process of installation with a short guide how you did it ::)
