I see he has a burgundy elite for sale, low mileage and looks mint ( although don't like the colour myself) with very low miles. But........£4495! Surely there's no omega worth that is there? The old saying its worth what people will pay cant apply here. Nice car but sheesh!!
No link as I'm a dumbo and can't figure out how to do it, but check it out.

Of course is budden not burden.

Well someone thinks it's worth the money cause it's sold.
-
Is that a flat tyre at the front? Or are my eyes wonky.
-
Nice looking car. Low mileage.
I am hoping to get a 2.5 DTi Omega one day (just need to keep doing the lottery). :y
-
He does seem to find them and sell them at those prices...

Mine is! :P :D

Well, the car was probably over 30,000 new..maybe a bit of discount..but take 4500 off 30000 means depreciation of approx 2800 yearly. On that basis, buy it and if it lasts 2 years your quids in :y :y :y
-
Mine is. In fact both mine are. :)
-
Mine's worth that too ;)
But that RB one doesn't even have a colour screen ::)
-
That car has been on his site for ages (years). I remember thinking before that it's a bit of a weak colour to be demanding RB prices, and especially with a flat tyre. ;D
I'd love to know how many Omegas he shifts at those prices, and whether it's still impossible to shift him down from the asking price as it was 5 years ago. They must be hard to come by in anything like the condition / mileage required, and I can't imagine he gets many takers willing to pay that for a 9 year old car. Then again, if they've just been to a BMW specialist they might. ;)

Or lpg and irmscher everything, with rear blind, CID, telematics, bt kit, iPod player, ac glove box, ebc discs oe pads, b4 shocks and irmscher springs. Etc etc. :P :)
Probably does not have heavy steering rust/damage by the filler cap either though. :(
-
He does seem to have less and less Omega's for sale these days, lot's of Chrysler's when I last looked.. :)

When I bought mine (knocking on for a couple of years, now?) he told me he'd all but stopped selling Omegas and was selling those instead as the 'closest best thing still available'

Sorry Kevin, I have to contradict you on this point. The car was on sale for approximately 14hrs, after which i bought it, having taken it for a very enjoyable test drive. The colour of the car is my favourite.. i have had three cars this colour. FYI the flat tyre issue has been resolved. Mr Budden had put new tyres on the car but that one on the front did not seal correctly. I have had it redone and it is fine now:y :y :y
I think that we all ought to celebrate the fact that somebody ie me wants to spend good money on an Omega. I could of bought a Skoda or an 18month younger Vectra, but instead chose the Omega. And very pleased I am too. It feels like driving a new car compared to my old one whic had done 98K.

Only just up the road from me, but at those prices I won't be visiting anytime soon.

OK. Clearly a different car, then. :-[
You are right, of course. There's no better place to see a car devalued than an enthusiast's forum same goes for every car I've been enthusiastic about. Thinking back to when I bought my Omega, and obviously looking at the price of other comparable cars, I was prepared to (and did) pay strong money for the car I wanted. Our views are perhaps tainted by the number of high mileage or "needs a bit of work" examples that you can pick up for a song if you know where to look. A low mileage Omega in decent condition from a reputable source was not that easy to find back then, let alone now.
From all reports, you will have no hassle from RB if you need any after-sales support either.
I hope it serves you well. :y
-
RB prices are perfectly reasonable if it's the right car for the right person ;)
If he had managed to get the right car in for me when I was looking I would have considered buying it from him :y I paid fairly strong money anyway ::)
-
I had mentioned this car before, clearly quite expensive by most of OOFs reckoning. But people will pay what they feel is a good price for them. Mine was the same spec, with only 21k miles and I paid well less then 3k and got a fair few freebies thrown in as well. And that was from a Vauxhall dealership as well.
I wouldn't pay RB prices because they are way over the top and the few cars I have been to see have had issues.
Nice colour though, wife likes it a lot.
To the new owner, how many previous owners has the car had?

But D, your car is no longer available. As you bought it. Therefor the next best option is...
...whatever the buyer sees as the next best option available at the time. No...?
Let's say Dealers took the same approach and fixed prices at the same level as each other (high prices in their case ) we'd all cry foul of price fixing. And we do.
Don't get me wrong, it ain't cheap. But why is Mr Buden obliged to sell at a price that's cheaper than, say, yours...?
We've seen similar in cars for sale here. With members posting a car is too expensive, and having no intention of buying. What is it to anyone else other than the seller how much am item is...?
If its too expensive it won't sell. Simples.
Personally I think the omega is worth way more than that. And should be getting more expensive the rarer the top models become. Market forces however dictate otherwise. Plus, as Kev says, a bunch of enthusiasts on a forum degrade a car value etc. How convenient a contradiction of how good a car is, as we all have one, yet it's not worth much. Hmmm...
Look at used car prices on the continent, and see how lucky we are...
End of the day, add all opinions together to see the buyer and sellers view, and the price will be somewhere in the middle. Good luck to them both. :)

Only when considering a purchase...........not when trying to sell ::) ::) ;D

Rob, I consider that deliberate provocation.
As you well know, this is a view I have heald from year dot on here.

If you choose to perceive my comment as provocation Chris that`s your perogative but it wasn`t meant to be, just my views on the subject, of which we`re all entitled to :)

I see your point, but I also maintain that even if I had not found my car and there was a similar one at RB at his sky high price, I wouldn't pay for/buy it! Thats all. Its just that I don't wish to pay over the top prices as it makes me feel like a mug. Others may not feel the same as me. Just my opinion, not forcing it on anyone really.
The fact that his cars are not perfect at that price and his refusal to negotiate on price means that I will probably never ever buy a car from him. BTW, I do like the OP's title, intentional or otherwise. ;D

Yes I noticed that, most amusing. ;D
