suppose it's better that it breaks down on runway than 5 mins later at 10,000 feet...lol

Jeez that would be my worst nightmare! I assume it was the same plane you eventually flew out on? Hate flying as it is, would have cacked the breeks thinking there was a problem with it! :-[
I think Billy Connolly was right.....if planes had glass bottoms, no bugger would fly ;D

Enjoy Thailand! Check for adams apples! ;D

Nah, I'd love that! I have no problem looking down from 35,000 ft but for some reason being 12ft up a ladder scares the bejesus out of me ???
Seen this? http://www.airlinesanddestinations.com/aircraft/airbus-showcases-2050-concept-airliner-cabin-for-paris-airshow/ - I think that'd be an awesome way to fly.

You need to try a weight shift microlight. Like riding pillion on a motorbike in the air. :y
I would imagine once you get used to the fact that there's one pin attaching you to the wing (the bit that stops you turning into a cagoule of tomato puree thousands of feet below) and that the other thing that's keeping you alive is an engine the size of a shoe box putting out as much power as a desmond and revving away like an angry wasp 6" behind your head, it could be quite fun. I decided once was enough. ;D

Having been in a plane thats developed a fault in the air, and having to do an emergency landing, its quite a surreal experience. Not one I'd like to repeat, though.
Enjoy Thailand, Dundee, are you going to be bidding for any bits of your car? ;D

From the man who likes to fly with no engines at all ??? ;D

Best way. Nothing good comes from using engines. They play tricks on you. You go to fire one up to take you to work and it doesn't do anything. :( Then you see the crank sensor you were going to fit sitting on the passenger seat. ::) Then it starts ssipping down. >:(
