Title: Omega Elite 3.0 Auto compared to MV6 3.2 Auto
Post by: robnobrakes on 26 July 2012, 16:30:24
On 2 July this year I bought this 56,000 mile 1997 Elite 3.0 for my wife as a replacement for her 1993 Toyota MR2 Auto.

I was so impressed with the Elite, I bought this 90,000 mile 2003 MV6 3.2 Auto yesterday.

The driving experience differences between the two cars is amazing.  The Elite ozes luxury, comfort and pace.  Can a Rolls Royce really be much more comfortable than this?  The MV6 provides a more involving and exciting driving experience of a quality sports saloon with almost razor sharp handling, whilst retaining a compliant ride.  MV6 is noticeably quicker off the line and thoughout the rev range.  A bit more power, and a bit less weight compared to the Elite.  My wife said the MV6 handled much like a bigger MR2, praise indeed.  Shame the facelift cars have cheaper interior trim, particularly regarding the door cards.

Which car do I prefer?  Probably the MV6, but its a close call ;D

Before my MV6 I owned a humble 2.6 CD. The MV6 is far more of a drivers car. :y
