Post by: Aundie on 01 August 2012, 15:33:47
I have a aj16 engine gearbox and drivetrain in my garage would it be a possible to custom fit this into my omega?

Quick Google suggests thats a 3.2 or 4.0 Jag lump?

Never seen one fitted before, think you are going to struggle width wise, with GM V8's in the Omega (which never made production) the exhaust manifolds had to come off at some serious angles

I thought the AJ16 is a straight 6  :-\ :-\ :-\ Thought you'd have a bit more room to be honest  :-\

Is a straight 6 and quite a narrow engine its swaping over axel and drive train. I'm a Coded welder so used to heavy metal work just never attempted anything more than a engine swap with compatible engine but its a project I may undertake if deemed doable.

It would be worth the trouble to fit a supercharged engine but I wouldn't mess about with the normally aspirated one, its too much work for only 35bhp more over the 3.0 V6 IMO

Think I'd agree Pete how much are good 3.0 lumps selling for? could I keep the 2.5 diff, gearbox that's already in car?
