Dose anyone know what head light upgrades there are for a 2002 2.2 as mine are rubbish at nite and where I can get them from
-
from alot of people on here they are rubbish, the only thing you could do is get some night brakers, they do work better and can see more of the road have both sets my self in night brakers.

If you have projector lights fitted you can source and fit a pair of HID lights from a higher spec model (which requires a slight wiring modification). You also must have headlight washers fitted, and ensure the lights are properly adjusted as they will blind oncoming motorists if they are set too high.
Cars with HID,s fitted as standard will have a self levelling system fitted to the headlights, and there was talk that from this year it would be an MOT failure if HID,s were fitted without self levelling.
I spoke to my MOT man about this on Thursday and he said its not the case.If a self levelling system is fitted it has to be working, but otherwise, the headlights just need to be adjusted properly.

What condition are the lenses in?
-
Nothing duff about my HID,s. They are properly adjusted and Ive had no inkling that they have ever dazzled anyone. ::)
-
if hid is retro-fitted dosn't need levellers or washwipe,if factory fitted must have wash and self levellers.
-
According to my MOT man they must have washers. They also become about as effective as a candle when they get dirty,so washers are a must imo regardless of the regs. ;)

According to my MOT man they must have washers.T .....
My MOT tester mustn't agree. You've just reminded me that the fuse for my headlight washers is still in the ash tray ....... the car passed its MOT yesterday. ::) ;) ;)

Thats the trouble, there is so much confusion.
The view DfT take is any retrofit *MUST* conform to the same as a new car. Thus washers, autolevelling and HID approved lenses. Simples.
As said, really pleased that people around here are getting stopped :D
-
Dont see why it should be a problem tbh.Ok,if the car is bouncing over bumps they could possibly dazzle someone, but so could projecters with nightbreakers fitted.Whats the difference? :-\

well ?? :-\ ::)
I have had mine set on the lower side of the adjustment range btw, to hopefully prevent the possibilty of dazzling anyone arising. As said earlier,Ive never had anyone flash their lights at me to indicate a problem. ;)

Which is currently unenforceable in law. VOSA has a different view. ;)
