does anybody own one of these tech 2s

are they worth a purchase or a waste of money?

I *believe* this one is the 'Cheapo Tech2' with a built in USB-Serial adapter. Therefore, its fair to say it will not work particularly well.

Once going thorugh the USB adapters, its a game of luck if it works with a specific laptop. In our experience, it usually doesn't.

The old serial ones were more robust, esp with DTM's modified config file, but few laptops have serial ports...  ...except the pile here in the corner  :-X

Mine worked really well,for about a year.Then a few weeks ago it decided it couldnt communicate with something or other and its now destined for the bin. ::) ;D

That must be where I'm going right then. I borrow my Dad's old serial port laptop.  :y :y Or easier still is going to see a certain Captain!  ;) ;)

That must be where I'm going right then. I borrow my Dad's old serial port laptop.  :y :y Or easier still is going to see a certain Captain!  ;) ;)
Yeah, a worthwhile device if your lappy has a 'proper' serial port :y
