Don't know how they managed this but my son's while fighting for middle seat(trying to be first in the door) managed to rip off my plastic trim iv'e tried to clip it back on but think must have broke something as i can't see how this could clip back on! could have strangled them but had to settle for removing xbox privileges(Mrs idea). Not Pleased at all.

Black door strip?
Unlucky, but does occasionally happen. Have to remove it and replace with new normally, as once its bent, its nigh on impossible to straighten. Held on with some very fierce double sided tape and two sacrifical clips.

it's silver same as car. whats the cost of these new?

If silver, its got facelift strips on. These are easier - 1 torx screw at each end (screw through door into strip), and slides forward to unlatch.

so i have to take door card off?

No

Are you able to completely remove it?
As said, should be 2 torx screws that screw through doorskinf into strip. These need to be removed. They are at extreme edges, so no need to remove doorcard.

maybe not been clear the plastic trim has come away from metal part. i'm left with metal strip on door with 4 white plastic clips securing it to door cant find any screws at either end of door.
-
hang on, lets start again.
exactly which piece of trim are you talking about?

Near side rear door bump strip just opened a photobucket account so once I figure it out I'll get pics up. The trim on door has come away leaving a backing plate with 4 white plastic rectangular clips 2 either end securing it to car. Plastic bit that's came off is no rather bent has a metal bead along bottom edge. Can clip in front end by sliding it towards rear of car but other end won't secure.

Ah, OK, they are 'black' trims, just someone has painted them silver.
As the metal part looks undamaged, *may* be possible to get the plastic to reattach. They are sold as 1 item, so unclear how plastic attaches to metal strip.
