Maybe it was a taxi :-\

That's been relisted. It ended yesterday with a bid of £500 but it hadn't made the reserve.
-
I really must try harder ::) mine's nearly at 230k...

10% behind you,Al. ;D

And on the basis of that listing, yours must be worth at least £1000 ;)

Local dealer was servicing a 600,000m one a few years back. No idea if it was like trigger's broom though.
-
As I hopefully impressed upon the buyer of my estate car yesterday - with regular basic servicing, they will pretty much go on forever. :y
-
Sitting back waiting for joshwyatt to 'Trump' this thread too....................... :D :D :y :y

Even so, over a million miles must make it the highest mileage of virtually any car in the UK :o
-
Somebody has a decimal point on the wrong place I reckon. ::)
-
That is some impressive mileag even driving even driving between Wales and Scotland. ;)
Assuming car is 14 years old that would equate to travelling approx 198 miles every single day :P of its 14 year life without days for repair/servicing/holidays etc.
Quite astonishing :o :o :o

How old is the car & how long has it been in your ownership?

How about a photo of an old MOT? Say from 2005? :)
It must have had what, 800k+ on it by then?

it 17 years old in september, and ive had mig 5 years.

Much as I will defend the 4 pot engines, I find it very hard to believe yours has done over a million miles, a think a photo of an old MOT certificate would be nice to see :)

Bore wear on number 1 will kill most 2.0/2.2 long before even a third of that. Thats not to say its not on its 4th or 5th donk though...
-
Previous owner must have hardly any time to get out of the car then as if you have owned for 5 years and cover around 2-3 thou a year you must have bought a 12 year old car with close to a MILLION miles registered so my previous calculations were quite alot out then ...actually covering nearer 230 miles for every single day of its previous 12 years :o :o :o
Think a previous MOT would go along way to convincing me this is not a car that has been ..."clocked forward" ;D
-
I reckon its Flux Capacitor is reading too high! ;D
-
I would love to believe a Mig can do a Million, PLEASE prove it Freecall, we really want to be amazed! ::)
-
Remember this is Rusty who once said the V6, had 12 valves ::)
-
Think it would need 120 valves to do a Million ;D ;D ;D

How convenient you have no evidence ::)
You can also go back as far as 2005, which would been before you got it.
Funny no matter what is suggested you are unable to prove it ;) ::)

well yes it is funny as i had to get the mot/log papers when i got the car from the dvla office, as it was a registerd buisness car /Buisness name, and had to change to plg. i dont really care if you beleve me or not, it not worth it.

What did you expect? Suggesting your Omega had done over a million miles, would prompt calls for you to prove it. As it would be a record I think for the UK?
Who would pay to service a car to that millage? You suggest Kodak, but company cars last 3 maybe 4 years Max. If a private owner bought it, why not get a diesel if your doing those mega miles? Going by Vx service intervals, there is no way thats is the original engine either, it must have gone through about 4 head gaskets?
Come to think of it what made you buy a car with that millage?
Complete bull from you as usual rusty! :y

Ignoring the question I see?
What made you think "Yes, I want to hand over money for a car that has done 950,000 miles+" :o
-
Why not post a picture of your odometer to settle the argument?
-
Did have the makings of a "Tall Story ". Just on pure age car would have needed to be driven around 6 hours a day for its entire ownership every single day of the 14 years ...not saying its untrue but would require substantiating to get my vote ;D
-
I've had mine just over 3 years. In that time it's been off the road for 5 months from accident damage and a further 6 months whilst I rebuilt the front suspension, (I ended up getting another car for work whilst collecting parts).
In two years it has done 130k, so 65k a year :-\ I'd like to see 250k from it as a chap I used to work with had an M reg diseasel that he took to 475k, but he had cheated and put a new engine in at 240k ::) it would be nice to see 500k from it, but I very much doubt that I'll be working the car for long enough :-\
-
There was a 2.2DTi in the scrappy today with 301k on the speedo...
...no clues why it was in there, no obvious panel damage beyond how they are manuovered, and both front airbags deployed (but not side), but I think scrapyyards have to do that now.

Price would never be low enough for a million mile car. Even breaking it is likely to be uneconomical.
