Title: Double mass flywheel?
Post by: Johnny English on 12 August 2012, 14:25:05
Hey mates, at time of engine stop I can hear one-two scary knocking kind noise from either the clutch or the transmission house. Hope I'm wrong when thinking of the beginning of the end of double mass flywheel...Do you ever have similar experience?   Any idea much appreciated

Symptons of failing DMF are usually noise that sounds like a thrust bearing, vibration at certain points of the rev range, or "lurch" when pulling away or changing gear but the giveaway is a "clonk/thump" on startup
