Still in everyday use, and owned for well over 30 years by the chap who taught me pretty well everything I know about AEC and Leyland diesel engines.

Looking at the link Den, it would appear that they were unsure on what side to fit the fuel tank. ;D
I initially thought it was '? hand drive specific' but looking closer they appear to be random. :-\

I must admit I thought there was a bit of Gordon-Keeble in it initially, and then found out that Gordon hailed from Peerless, so I'm inclined to side with Albs too. :y

Hurraaaaaaay ..... ya've cracked eet ..... a splendid effort by the OOF boffins! ;D
It's actually a 1959 Phase 2 Peerless 2-litre GT; and one of only 50 built.
Bought from an impoverished student in the 1970s; it's been "the man's" only car ever since! :o

Based around Triumph TR3A mechanicals, the glass-fibre body is underpinned by a 'space frame' chassis incorporating a Salisbury final drive and De Dion rear axle.
The engine's now got TR4 piston/liners fitted, so the capacity has been upped from 1991cc to 2138cc in the process.
It'll be making it's debut appearance as one of 230 entries in the Classic Car section at the forthcoming Welland Steam Rally as per: http://www.wellandsteamrally.co.uk/
Or look in our 'Meetings' section! ;D

Yeah, what was the Malvern connection to Peerless (who were in Slough)?

Not posted prior as I knew - as its based on TR mechanics.
Malvern - up until recently venue for major annual meet for TR Register members and their cars - Peerless are included in the TR Register so have seen many pics of them over the years in TR Action ;)
And that one's a beaut - is it on the Peerless (TR) Register?

Just spoken with the owner - yes indeed, it's indeed on said register! :y

'Twas the Malvern Hills in the background that was the actual clue ....
The car (as per the thread) will be making it's debut at our Welland event next month! ;)
